The Sankofa Community Education (SCE) was established with the goal of fostering a global community where individuals can converge to exchange ideas and knowledge on life, informatics, while also nurturing art, music, and culture. Our vision is to elevate current living standards and ensure a prosperous future for generations within and beyond the communities surrounding Berekum in the Bono Region of Ghana.

Our primary objective is to advance quality education for both children and adults, amalgamating modern educational principles with traditional Ghanaian culture.

SCE was initiated by a German/Ghanaian couple.

Sabine Boateng, a State-approved Waldorf Preschool Teacher with extensive experience from Germany and service at the German/Swiss School in Accra.

Clifford Boateng, an IT Consultant who spent many years living, studying, and working in Germany before returning home. Clifford’s consultancy extends to esteemed institutions such as the Bank of Ghana, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) – a German Development Bank, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre. He also served as faculty at the Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT – Accra.

Sankofa Community School offers a range of educational levels from Crèche, nursery, Kindergarten, primary (1-6), and Junior high school.

Sankofa Orbit Hub is a skills, innovation and entrepreneurship hub for learners of all ages. Rooted in the Sankofa spirit of drawing on where we come from, we help people learn practical skills and turn them into a business or livelihood, from idea to skill to business.

The mission of Sankofa Community Education is to inspire students and others in the community to achieve the highest standards of intellectual and personal development through a stimulating and comprehensive educational program. Within a caring and respectful environment, we strive to instill in each individual a desire to learn, take appropriate risks, and accept challenges. Our goal is to develop resilient, adaptable individuals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and disposition to continue their education and become personally fulfilled, interdependent, socially responsible intellectuals within their community and beyond.
