About Us / Our Mission / Our Vision

About Us

The Sankofa Community Education (SCE) was founded with the aim to create an infrastructure which will bring people from all over the world together in order to share ideas and knowledge about life and informatics, and to promote art, music, and culture among the population.

We believe this will improve the living standards of the people today and future generations to come within the communities around Berekum (in the Bono Region-Ghana) and beyond.

Our main focus is to promote quality education for children and adults, blending modern educational philosophies with traditional Ghanaian culture.

The Sankofa Community Education was initiated by a German / Ghanaian couple. Sabine Boateng is a State approved Waldorf Preschool Teacher and has many years’ experience in Germany. She has also worked for the German / Swiss School in Accra. Clifford Boateng (IT Consultant) lived, studied and worked in Germany for many years before returning home. He consults for institutions like the Bank of Ghana, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) – a German Development Bank, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre etc. Clifford was also a faculty member at the Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT – Accra.

Sankofa Community Education offers Crèche, nursery, Kindergarten, primary (1-6),  Junior high school one(1) and coming soon we will extend to Junior high school two(2) and Senior high school. Qualified students may receive a recommendation to University at the end of Senior high school if their academic performance at the Sankofa Community School and WASSCE are sufficient.
